The Mojatu April newsletter has had a sparkling new makeover as we've begun to evolve our services. From now on, our monthly newsletter will include the latest news, projects and events for women and girls from our organisation, partners and beyond.

Mojatu Foundation celebration party
Mojatu Foundation invites you to a celebration party for our success at being granted the PRTA 2021, on 3rd June 2022, 5 pm until midnight, at the Marcus Garvey Ballroom, Lenton Boulevard, Nottingham, NG7 2BG. Womens Skillshares
Mojatu will be holding women’s skillshares every Thursday. This will include activities such as art, sewing, baking, Learning IT skills coupled with coffee mornings and a chance to meet and share with other women as part of community engagement.

Mojatu Ladies Sport
Mojatu is holding ladies sports every Saturday for Women only. This is to improve higher levels of confidence and self-esteem. The programs are on going & will offer classes in self defense, Zumba, body combat and many other sports  . For more information & to sign up email us below.

Ramadan Food Project April 2022
As we continue to #StayHomeSaveLives, the situation caused by Covid-19 means that many people require more support than ever before. FYA, GAIN Diaspora, Mojatu Foundation, Himmah and Al Hurraya have come together to support communities; especially Africans, Caribbean, Refugees and those from the new and emerging groups in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. 

- We aim to accommodate requests accordingly but we cannot guarantee your preferred choice (though we can guarantee vegetarian). 

- Meals will arrive every Friday during Ramadan.

FGM Ambassador Training
Community FGM Ambassador training is way of developing a team of community embedded and based volunteers to help end female genital mutilation.

This FGM Global ambassador training programme teaches learners what female genital mutilation is, the 4 types involved, why the practice happens, key statistics, and the effects it has on victims, how to spot the signs and identify females at risk of genital mutilation, how to describe safeguarding in practice. Help Empower and support the ambassadors to act as agents of change in ending FGM

Healthcare, Hospitality & Childcare Courses
We're offering girls and women from African, Caribbean, and New and Emerging Communities’ training and work placements in the childcare and healthcare sectors. Our courses are aimed at enabling learners to gain accredited qualifications, hands-on work experience and to move into employment and further training upon qualification.

Driving Theory
This 12-week training course prepares learners to take and pass the DVSA Theory Test. It is tailored towards students whose first language is not English, although anyone is welcome to join. With the assistance of interpreters in languages including Arabic and Kurdish, learners will be guided through the DVSA Theory Test curriculum and will be prepared to take the exam at a certified driving theory test center. Additional support is offered at every stage, from applying for a provisional license to booking a theory test to finding qualified driving instructors to train for your practical exam with.

English Conversation
This open course is designed for English Language learners of all levels. There are three streams: Beginners/Intermediate and Intermediate/Advanced. The weekly classes focus on improving learners’ knowledge of English grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, writing, listening and speaking. An important component of the course is fostering group discussion and debate around topical issues in order to develop learners’ oral and aural abilities, as well as their self-confidence and trust in their own voice and expression.
