Focus in our own art development is crucial. Sometimes I think we are so interested in what and how others are achieving their paintings that we fail to focus on our own way of painting.
- Gwen Fox
I've been thinking about PERSPECTIVE this past week. I've pondered how seeing things from a different viewpoints can give us insight and understanding.
Perspective is the angle, or the attitude, or the context from which we view something, be it a tangible thing or an idea or experience.

1.  the state of existing in space before the eye.
2.  the state of one's ideas, the facts known to one, etc., in having a meaningful interrelationship.

When you look at a building from street level, or from above, or at close range, you see very different things. A city can also be experienced through the lens of a local, or a stranger. Each perspective is valid yet completely unique.

So many perspectives...

Being an artist is as much about learning to SEE as it is about mastering a technique.

You have a perspective that nobody else has. You see the world from the viewpoint of your individual life experiences and your own unique imagination.

Have you found your individual vision as an artist yet? Do you trust your own point of view, your own vision? Your own artistic voice?

Do you trust your own voice as an artist?

All month long I'll be musing about finding one's voice as an artist, then learning to trust it. It's about seeing. It's about freely playing and deliberate practice and honest analysis. I'd love for you to follow my art accounts on one of the social media accounts linked below and join in this journey. You will learn to enjoy the process... and to surrender your need to control the result. You will discover the joy of practising your creativity. The process, not the product, will become your focus.
