It's time for Derby Day at our Colchester Campus
Derby Day is an annual day of sporting competition between the Essex Blades and UEA and this year's event is taking place at our Colchester Campus. Staff and students can #BackTheBlades and join in with one of the most exciting events of the year.

UCU pay and pensions ballots
The University was reballoted in both the UCU pay and conditions and the USS pensions disputes, and both ballots met the 50% threshold extending the mandate for industrial action beyond 3 May 2022.

Your pay this month
The rate of
National Insurance contributions you pay has recently changed from 12% to 13.25%. This will affect your take home pay, so you may notice a change in your salary from April 2022 onwards. Please contact reward@essex.ac.uk if you have any questions.

An event organised by our Students’ Union Conservative Society involving an external guest speaker took place on 19 October 2021. The event went ahead with a counter protest and a number of complaints were made following the event.
