On December 23, 2014, the City of San Bruno turned 100 years old. An entire year of programs and events took place to bring the community together in celebration of our Centennial including a carnival in San Bruno City Park, that would later become known as Community Day in the Park. Each year the event brings together the community in City Park for an afternoon of camaraderie, fun, food and, music. For several years, the event was scheduled to coincide with the Lions Club Posy Parade and both events are traditionally very well attended! Unfortunately, in 2020 COVID-19 put a halt on many events, and Community Day was one of them.
After taking a two-year hiatus, 2022 will be a year like no other! The Community Services Department is planning for Community Day 2022, and it will return with a new location - San Mateo Avenue. The impact of construction taking place in San Bruno City Park has presented an opportunity to transform the event into a street fair celebration in San Bruno’s downtown. The City is also happy to partner with the San Bruno Lions Club for the Posy Parade again this year!
Come one, come all – the event has been reimagined to reflect the vibrant diversity of cultures that comprise the San Bruno community. Here is a sneak peak...
