What a glorious Resurrection Sunday! My heart was filled up to overflowing, and it was so good to see so many faces I love and cherish! I hope you all will make worship a central priority in the days to come…it is SO good to be together and worship our Risen Lord with one voice and one heart!

Now, I know you have been waiting for the big news, and I’ve put off speaking to your question as long as I can, but I can wait no longer. The crappies are NOT in just yet…I’m sorry. I know that’s disappointing, but the water temp is still hovering just over 50 degrees, and we need to get up to 56-60 before the bite really turns on. I’ll keep you posted, but be thinking May 5th…my birthday…that’ll be the day you want to be out there! I know that’s some pretty heavy stuff—let me know if you need help adjusting to the news.

Speaking of news, I heard this week that we have made it to the $50K mark on the Bless Our City offering! Well done church! Our goal is $250k, so we are 1/5th of the way there! If you haven’t had a chance to chip in for this important mission offering, you can do so here. Thank you again for being a generous Church. Our local mission partners will be profoundly encouraged and our city blessed for the fame of Jesus as a result of your generosity.

Just a reminder that we will have a VERY brief called congregational meeting following the 10:30 service at both locations to do two things: 1) Formally “dissolve the call” for Pastor Bob effective May 22, 2022 as he will be retiring after 51 years of faithful service at Colonial; and 2) Formally vote to amend Pastor Bob’s status to “Pastor Emeritus.” The Pastor Emeritus status is a formal way of honoring Bob for his incredible legacy of faithfulness. Bob will not have authority or responsibility, but our vote to make him our Pastor Emeritus is a way of saying that we deeply desire for Bob and Gwen to remain with our congregation and to always carry with the Emeritus title the honor that he deserves. I suspect most of us would consider that a “no-brainer,” but the EPC places that decision in the hands of the congregation, so please plan on staying and casting your vote.

I will be speaking on John 20:11-18, and my message is entitled, “He Calls Us By Name.” Can’t wait to be with you Sunday!

Love you Church,
