Conversation to Explore
May 1st

Conversation to Explore on May 1st will be led by David F. It will revolve around three prominent Quakers who chose to violate the Peace Testimony in times of conflict and how their lives and experiences can shed light on questions we still grapple with. Click HERE to read David's document that will guide our conversation; it will be updated with links containing more details about the lives of subjects.

Conversation to Explore

Holding the Light

Gather up whatever is
glittering in the gutter,
whatever has tumbled
in the waves or fallen
in flames out of the sky,

for it’s not only our
hearts that are broken,
but the heart
of the world as well.
Stitch it back together.

Make a place where
the day speaks to the night
and the earth speaks to the sky.
Whether we created God
or God created us

it all comes down to this:
In our imperfect world
we are meant to repair
and stitch together
what beauty there is, stitch it

with compassion and wire.
See how everything
we have made gathers
the light inside itself
and overflows? A blessing.

Supporting Gifts

Supporting Gifts to the Orlando Monthly Meeting are very important. They provide the basis for our financial support and for our continued existence as a Quaker Meeting. While it is true our community has the great benefit of a financial legacy provided to us from the generous and wise Friends of the past, we  nevertheless have a duty to protect the legacy for the future. Your support gifts, of any size, will add to the effort to preserve our legacy and enable the Orlando Monthly Meeting of The Religious Society of Friends to continue serving Friends now and beyond our time.
Gifts may be made in person at the Meeting House or by mail. To use credit cards, debit cards or Paypal, simply click on the DONATE image below, or go to orlandoquakers.org where any menu page, such as "About Us," will have a DONATE button for making a single or recurring contribution. Checks made out to “Quakers of Orlando” can be mailed to: Christine Stinson, Treasurer, Orlando Monthly Meeting, P.O. Box 840097, St. Augustine Beach, FL 32080.
