When we originally announced Ginseng Roots #9 we used this cover. However, Craig, in the process of working on it, realized it made a much better #10. So we ended up switching after the announcement was made. I hope that help explain any confusion seeing this cover again.

Description: Phil joins Craig during a book tour in South Korea, through Seoul and Bucheon, then extending to a research journey in rural Geumsan, the epicenter of Korean ginseng cultivation. Geumsan is the sister city to Marathon, the brothers’ tiny American town, but with a deep thousand-year history of art, mythology, and cuisine surrounding the medicinal root. While there, the brothers sort out how Craig’s paralyzing writer’s block and Phil’s marital strain are tangled up in their working-class childhood.

New York Times Can’t Say:
Sweet Little C**t

Here’s a fun new item. The New York Times recently ran a nice profile on Julie Doucet in light of her recent Grand Prix award at the Angouléme festival. Our Eisner Award winning book Sweet Little Cunt (written by Anne Elizabeth Moore) had a small mention… or I should say it was unmentionable:

“We have this great thing going on where she’s revisiting a narrative construct she’s created, but she’s doing so as a middle-aged woman, who’s not trying to misrepresent herself,” Anne Elizabeth Moore, who wrote a book about Doucet with an unprintable title, said in a phone interview. We don’t have many models for female comics creators who do that.”
