Finals Week Information

JH finals: JH core (Math, Science, History and English) teachers have the option of offering a cumulative final, a final project, or Unit test the last week of class. We tried this last semester and found it was a great way to take some of the pressure off our JH students and give them alternative ways to show what they know, while also giving teachers our teachers the flexibility to make that choice.  If your teachers are planning to use one of these  alternative final options, they will let you and your students know this week.

JH & HS Grades: All grades should be up to date each Friday, so students and parents are aware of grades as we head into the end of the year. Please don't hesitate to reach out to your teachers if you have any questions or concerns.

Staff Appreciation Week

Hello Christian Families!

Teacher/staff member Appreciation Week is coming up NEXT WEEK, May 2-6, and we are bringing back our blessing idea from last year, ADOPT A TEACHER AND/OR STAFF MEMBER!   How this works, you choose a teacher(s) and/or staff member(s) and use your gifts and talents to bless them throughout the week.  Some examples would be inspirational or encouraging notes or emails, gift cards to their favorite stores, snacks, drinks, lunch or breakfast.  If you would like to participate, and need help with coordinating blessing your adoptee, the PTF is here to help in anyway.  There are a couple of us on campus daily and will be happy to help with any distribution of gifts.

The attached sign up sheet has five slot available per staff member. You may sign up in any slot and bless that staff member any day of the week or as many days of the week as you wish.

Our Teachers and Administration work so hard, and it shows in how our children are thriving!  We want to make this a very special week and would greatly appreciate your support.

8th Grade Moving Up Dinner:
The end of the school year is quickly approaching, and soon your 8th graders are going to be high schoolers!  Every year we host a fantastic 8th Grade Moving Up Dinner that typically every 8th grader attends. This is a special night that the students get to take in their last moments as a Junior High student. The event will take place Friday, May 6th from 6 - 8:30pm in the Event Center and tickets will cost $10. We will begin ticket sales at lunch from Wednesday, April 20th - Friday, April 29th. Students have a little over a week to purchase their tickets, so please make sure they don't miss out on this event! There will be dinner, dessert, slideshow, yearbooks distributed (if they arrive in time), and the main entertainment - LIP SYNCS!  Students are strongly encouraged to connect with friends and come up with a fun lip sync to perform as a competition the night of the Moving Up Dinner. If your child is interested in performing a lip sync, please have them see me to get a lip sync form when we return from Easter Break. The theme is glow in the dark/neon/blacklight, so dress code will be casual and wear anything that will pop in blacklight (within school dress code rules still being applied).

Along with all the festivities, if there are any parents who would be willing to help volunteer - please email me at tam.bugg@christianunified.org

Thank you for your support and encouraging your child to attend & get involved in lip syncs! We are looking forward to this wonderful night with the 8th graders.

Jr. High Yearbook: Attention all junior high students and parents. The CJHS yearbook class needs your help. Please upload any pictures you take from events, games, spirit days, homecoming, 7th grade camp, classroom activities, fun times with friends, and any other picture you think would be great to have in the yearbook. We can’t be at everything and we’d like to make sure everyone is featured in this year’s yearbook. You can upload your pictures at:

Donations: Our JH Bible Classes are collecting Kleenex boxes and Wipes to distribute to all our JH Classes. It would be great if every JH family could send one or more of each. Our little ministry to our JH teachers
