Evangelism and Justice
Newsletter - May 2022
Hello and welcome to our second edition of the Evangelism and Justice Newsletter. This edition features an exciting new job opportunity for a Local Church Development Enabler working within the District, information on various upcoming events, news and also a reminder to book your place ASAP for the Pioneer Practice Tour which is coming up on Wednesday 18th May and looks to be a really inspiring and valuable afternoon.
Pioneer practice is about seeing possibility, dreams, ideas of how things could be better or new or different, and then making something happen out of that seeing.

The afternoon workshop will be practically focused with a mix of stories, exercises, poetry, songs, conversation, inspiration and encouragement. It’s for you if you are interested in pioneering or in encouraging others who are. If you are new it will be an opportunity to reflect on how to get started and explore your God given ideas. If you have been pioneering a while it will give you some encouragement and practical wisdom for the journey you are already on. There is such value in connecting with others in the area interested in pioneering. For further information and how to book your place see below.

Please contact either of us if you have questions on anything in the newsletter or need some help, with blessings,

JPIT Conference - Saturday 11th June 2022

SATURDAY 11TH JUNE 2022, 10AM - 4PM  – ONLINE AND ON-SITE AT OASIS HUB WATERLOO, LONDON

£5 Online – £12 On Site – Free for under 25s and those on a low income

During the pandemic, ‘local’ has taken on a renewed importance. The needs, characteristics and opportunities in our communities have been seen in different ways. A new role for the ‘local’ has emerged in the political landscape too, as ‘levelling up’ and regional and national identities are given new prominence. And, across the UK, grassroots organising is bringing new power to campaigning for change.

The Joint Public Issues Team’s 2022 national conference will begin here, with the local.

  • What does social justice look like where you are?
  • Where do we find hope in our neighbourhood?
  • What can we learn from those who are already doing this work?
  • How can local change be part of changing the bigger picture?

How can we unearth hope and seek justice From the Ground Up?

Honesty and Community Event

Children & Young People's Sleepover
Saturday 9th - Sunday 10th July

For those aged 11-18 years.
“The children and young people of Stocksfield Methodist Church are looking to host a spiritual, soulful and song filled sleepover!
They want to invite children and young people from around the District to join them for a night of praise. They want the children and young people of our churches to get the opportunity to meet one another and meet with one of the youth representatives for the church! They hope that in doing so they will find other small churches and may create connections that could lead to them attending other events such as 3generate together and it could also start the ball rolling for more events for children and young people in the District.
They hope to see you and your pyjamas soon! Oh and don’t forget your toothbrush!”
Contact David info@togethermission.co.uk for more details.
