"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us." Romans 8:18

APRIL 2022

Dear <<First Name>>,

Prior to returning to France, one of our prayer requests was for protection over our health. We were all very healthy at the time, but I understood that spiritual warfare manifests itself in different ways. Although we are not in a third world country, I remember countless occasions of severe illness while serving as a missionary in France. This time, I (James) was not only sick for almost two months from Covid and possibly a reaction to the medications, but also in the month of March I was very sick with appendicitis. I had surgery to remove my appendix on March 14th and by God’s grace I am recovering well so far.
It has been a challenge being sick while living out of our suitcases in different places since we arrived in France in September. While searching for a place to live, we were turned down about 20 times by rental agencies, property owners and even while searching for temporary housing on the internet (Airbnb). Reasons such as being a “pastor” or we do not receive our salary from France were given as reasons for rejection. We finally found a rental agent who understood our situation and really wanted to see us get a place. She reassured us by saying, “We do not discriminate.” By God’s grace we have an apartment to rent and have started the moving process.
It's official! James signing our lease to our apartment with our rental agent Marie
The church plant is doing well as I mentor Manuel Brambila in the EBTC program, and Julia and I serve wherever needed. Our main goal for now is to equip the core group with solid doctrine, so our church will be faithful to God’s word as we proclaim His pure gospel together.   Along with services every Sunday, we have men’s and ladies’ prayer groups, church fellowship dinners, and I will be teaching a Fundamentals of the Faith class soon. Please pray for the Lord to bless our church as we press on for the glory of Christ in faith.

Even in trials the Lord provides opportunities to proclaim HIM among unbelievers. Our doctor, who treated all of us when we had Covid, and in addition treated me again when I had appendicitis and needed to go to the hospital, came to our Easter service and dinner on Sunday with his wife. Please pray for the salvation of Dr. T and his wife, and two other unbelievers who heard a clear Gospel presentation. We all had a wonderful time celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Thank you for your faithful prayers and support. We thank God for each of you who are a vital part of our ministry.

Love & Prayers,
James, Julia, Elijah, William and Wesley
