NEW United States Internationalization Strategy
Succeeding Globally Through International Education and Engagement (revised in 2022)
The U.S. Department of Education’s updated international strategy reaffirms the Department’s commitment to preparing today’s students for a hyper-connected world. Underlying the strategy is the notion that advancing educational achievement and increasing economic viability are worthy pursuits.
The initial international strategy, upon which this updated strategy is based, was developed through extensive consultation within the Department, as well as with other U.S. government agencies and nongovernmental organizations. Since its establishment, the strategy has been used to guide the Department’s international activities and engagement.
Why an international focus?
More than ever, it is vital to prepare students to engage with the world. We must begin to reimagine and rebuild the future of education and provide all learners with the opportunity to grow and thrive. An effective domestic education agenda must aim to develop a globally and culturally competent citizenry equipped with critical thinking and creativity to solve complex problems, well-honed communication skills, language ability, and STEM skills. Such competencies enable students to appreciate our multicultural society, address global challenges and opportunities, find fulfilling jobs, and promote American national security.
Strategic Objectives:
Three interrelated objectives outlined below will advance the Department’s larger strategic goals:
Increase global and cultural competencies of all U.S. students
Learn from and with other countries to strengthen U.S. education
Engage in active education diplomacy to advance U.S. international priorities
The activities supporting these objectives are undertaken by program offices across the Department and, in some cases, in cooperation with other U.S. government agencies.

Scholarship for CCIE-Soonchunhyang University Fall 2022 Study Abroad
The application system for the Fall 2022 Exchange intake is now open. DUE: April 25, 2022
IMPORTANT: You MUST email Rosalind Raby that you will be applying prior to submitting the Online Application otherwise your application will be invalid: rabyrl@aol.com
For the Application: http://sgee.sch.ac.kr/admi/admi04.php for the online application
1. Students can fill in the Medical Form by themselves.
**If the student has pre-existing medical conditions or food allergies, we would ask her/him to inform their Study Abroad Advisor of his/her situation. This will help us communicate with the Study Abroad Advisor if an emergency situation should arise when the student is in Korea. If the student is taking medication, we strongly recommend bringing prescription medication that can last the duration of the program.**
When filling out the online application:
2. Password - The students can make their own password.
3. Main Contact Person - This is the student's Study Abroad Advisor (or equivalent).
4. Four forms must be uploaded to the site (Five if the students have a passport). Please make sure the Nomination form is signed by the student's Study Abroad Advisor (or equivalent).
5. Students do not need to upload a passport to apply to be an exchange student. However, if they are accepted, they will have to submit their passport information page before we can issue them an official Certificate of Admission. If they did not upload it, they can simply email it to astudies@sch.ac.kr, but we do recommend them to upload their valid passport. We highly recommend students to upload their most updated passport to avoid delay.
6. Students must write their email address correctly since we send the certificate of admission to the student's individual email. We do not send the original copy of the certificate of admission via mail.
7. To live in the dorms, a tuberculin skin test or chest x-ray dated within 1 month of the dorm move-in date is required. If positive, a chest X-ray is required. Students are required to submit either of the test results AFTER THEIR ACCEPTANCE. (So please DO NOT upload when applying)
8. Students can save their application so they do not have to complete it in one sitting. When they click "Save", they will be given an access number. They need this number (and their password) to revisit their application. They can click the "Modify Online Application" button on the webpage.
9. Once the application is complete and all the forms have been uploaded, the students can click "I Agree" and then click "Submit". Once they click "Submit" they will not be able to change or add to their application. If they made a mistake or forgot a form they would have to fill out a new application.
10. If you have any problems please contact us so we will do our best to help you.
