MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:     Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Gordon Stuckert will continue
as Faith Lutheran Principal

Our School Ministry Board met on Wednesday and voted unanimously to retain Gordon Stuckert as Principal of Faith Lutheran School for the 2022-2023 school year.  We rejoice and are thankful hat Gordon Stuckert has agreed to serve as our principal for another year.  Mr. Stuckert asked for an increase to his part-time hours, so expect to see more of him on campus this next year.

In the meantime, our Call Committee continues to search and interview candidates and will do so until we find our next full=time principal at Faith Lutheran.  Please keep our Call Committee in your prayers as we continue to interview candidates.  Our special thanks to Gordon Stuckert for his willingness and readiness to remain out of retirement to lead our school for another great year.  Please offer a warm welcome and a thank you when you see Mr. Stuckert.  We are blessed to have you!

Everyone deserves a healthy home!

Red Feather partners with American Indian nations to develop sustainable solutions to the housing needs within their communities.

They partner with homeowners, community members and tribal partners to:

Repair and weatherize homes

Demonstrate how housing conditions impact health

Conduct home assessments

Assemble professionals, volunteers and material within the community and outside to address the most urgently needed housing needs

Today there are over 1 million tribal members residing on American Indian reservations, 40% of whom live in homes that do not meet federal standards for “adequate housing”. This compares to just 6% of the rest of the US population living in substandard housing. These conditions can exacerbate and even cause chronic health conditions, making it difficult to be productive at work or school. Not having a healthy home is a root cause of  numerous problems that put a strain on community resources.

The Red Feather Weatherization program provides free, energy saving services to low-moderate income families living on the Hopi and Navajo Reservations who are Arizona Public Service customers in order to reduce their utility bills and improve the comfort and health of their homes.

Services provided under this program included:

Insulation of attic, walls and/or floor

Repair broken windows and doors

Repair damaged drywall

Air sealing including weather stripping and caulking

Installation of water saving devices

LED lighting upgrades

Minor roof repair

HVAC repair or replacement

Energy Efficient appliance swat outs

JUST ONE THING
Our goal is to be able to make more food bags for June and the end of July.  The end of July bags will include toiletries for back to school. Good deals on toiletries will be included in our weekly sale list. Thanks to everyone for your support of the pantry. The weekly community distribution at Brumby has climbed to over 200 families weekly. The need will only grow in the summer with the children being out of school and not receiving breakfast and lunch.

DID YOU KNOW – That people who are eligible for SNAP (food stamps) cannot use those funds for anything other than food to prepare. No already prepared food, i.e. rotisserie chicken.

      No cleaning supplies
      No personal hygiene products

Can you imagine not being able to wash your clothes or your body, or brush your teeth

These are the issues people on SNAP face. Think of that when you take a hot shower, do your laundry, wash you dishes, or brush your teeth.

Hope's Happenings

New visit opportunity at The Table on Delk: http://thetableondelk.org/index.html on Saturdays from 11:00am to 1:00pm.  Our idea is to distribute prayer shawls.

The sex/human trafficking industry in metro Atlanta has grown to nearly $300M annually.  These women, men and children are being forced or trapped into a lifestyle where their lives don’t matter.  They feel that they have few or no choices and most see no way out.  The impact on their lives and the lives of their families has generational implications. The volunteers at The Table on Delk want to help end sexual exploitation in Atlanta.

Please continue to submit your requests for a Zoom visit via the following methods:
  1. Complete the ‘Hope Comfort Dog Request’ form via this link: https://forms.gle/8oknB7haY7VLGgtE9.  When a request is submitted, the information is sent directly to my organizer’s phone.
  2. Call the church office at (770) 973-8877 to set up a visit.  Janice Schaag and Susie Glass are excellent sources for getting this information to my group.
