Thanks Forever

I exalt you, Lord, because you pulled me up;

you didn’t let my enemies celebrate over me.

Lord, my God, I cried out to you for help,

    and you healed me.

Lord, you brought me up from the grave,

brought me back to life from among those going down to the pit.

You changed my mourning into dancing.

You took off my funeral clothes

and dressed me up in joy

    so that my whole being

might sing praises to you and never stop.

Lord, my God, I will give thanks to you forever.

-Psalm 30: 1-3,11-12

Psalm 30 is one of my favorites. No matter what is going on in my life, I find I can always connect with the reminder that God restores life even when it feels like I’m sitting in a grave. (To be frank, I can also always connect with the slightly sassy tone of verse 9.) If you've got an extra minute, find the whole psalm and read it in your Bible or at this link.

Throughout this psalm, the speaker recounts the ups and downs of their life, recognizing that in both the good times and the bad, they depended on God’s mercy. Even though the psalm mentions every sort of problem, from conflict with enemies to disease, from death to terror, it begins and ends with praise. Read the rest...

Sunday Morning Volunteer Opportunities:
Are you friendly and welcoming? You could be a greeter, saying hello to worshipers as they come in before worship.

Are you good with technology? You could join the stream team and help with the sound board or livestream during worship.

Are you comfortable speaking in front of people? You could be a reader– Pastor Beth will even help you pronounce the unfamiliar names.

Are you good at giving directions? You could be an usher and help visitors find a seat and let worshipers know when to receive communion.

Do you love little children? You could volunteer to supervise the nursery.

Do you like to set up and clean up behind the scenes? You could be part of the Altar Guild, our team that prepares and cleans up communion and changes the altar paraments.

Do you love offering hospitality? You could sign up to prepare and serve coffee and treats for fellowship time.

Do you want to help as a worship leader? You could be a communion assistant, distributing juice and wine to worshipers.

Reply to this email if you'd like to sign up or learn more-- and if you're not sure, we'll help you learn how to usher, serve communion, make coffee, or whatever you'd like to try.

YOUR CONGREGATION NEEDS YOU!!
It is that time of year to begin finding board members, board chairs, committee members, and council chairs for the 2022-23 year to be voted on at the May biannual meeting. Please complete the following survey by APRIL 30TH to help out this year's vice-president and nominating committee so that we can have a full slate of boards and council members for this next year in order to best serve our church and the surrounding community.

We are doing a fund-raising campaign to replace the projector in the sanctuary. This project will get the wires off of the floor, and “clean up” the organ side of the space to allow for more flexibility with communion and musical groups.
The project is expected to cost around $2,500, and we are already halfway there. If you would like to help, just put “projector” on the memo line of your check, envelope, or Tithely contribution.

The Christian Education board and Youth Board are hosting their annual Bake Sale, May 1. All money raised will be split to support Vacation Bible School and service learning activities and trips for the youth.
