"What Next? Life After the Resurrection"
John 21:1-19

This Sunday, we will explore what happens after Easter. Jesus is risen! Hallelujah! But now what? What’s next? John 21 tells the story of the first disciples figuring out what life was to look like following Jesus’ resurrection, which provides a guide for us as well. Come journey with the Living Stream this Sunday as we enter into the story with our own lives today. Pastor Enten will be leading our worship.

Worship online with Living Stream Church of the Brethren on Sunday at 5:00 pm Pacific time; 6:00 pm Mountain time; 7:00 pm Central time; and 8:00 pm Eastern time. Or you may access the recorded archives of our worship at www.LivingStreamCoB,org any time that suits your schedule.

Brethren Voices TV features SnowCap in Oregon this week
In the mid 1960's, the basic life needs of many in East Multnomah County were not being met by any agency or organization. For those in need, when the cupboards were bare, many would make trips to area churches, in an attempt to find food. Because of their faith, 27 area churches, including Peace Church of the Brethren, stepped in to help make a difference for so many residents.
On January 16, 1967, Suburban Neighborhoods Operation Witness Community Action Program was born.  Today, it is known as SnowCap Community Charities.
Originally, three centers were set up, but in 1968, the three centers were merged and headquartered at Savage Memorial Presbyterian Church, near David Douglas High School. The basement facility at Savage Memorial was quite small and they soon outgrew the space.
'Brethren Voices' met with SnowCap's Executive Director, Kirsten Wageman, who shares the rest of the story. She states, "Volunteers are the engine behind everything that SnowCap does."
This edition of 'Brethren voices,' shares the dedication of its volunteers who range from school age to many years older. "Whether it's sorting clothing, assisting with grocery boxing or processing celery, there's a job for you and all are welcome," states Kirsten Wageman.

Peace Church of the Brethren (Portland, OR) provides volunteers for SnowCap through Brethren Volunteer Service.

There will be no onsite quilting at the 2022 Annual Conference
“Due to some lingering hesitations about the need for people to be in close proximity to one another during the quilting, the Association for the Arts in the Church of the Brethren (AACB) will not be hosting the auction or quilting at Conference this year,” said the announcement from AACB coordinator Tara Hornbacker. “There will be a presentation to the moderator. Send your quilt blocks to Margaret Weybright, 1801 Greencroft Blvd., Apt. #125, Goshen, IN 46526. We plan to return to quilting at Conference, along with hosting the auction next year in Cincinnati. See you there!”
Join us each Wednesday in the Zoom Prayer Room as we share from our different locations and then hear a brief word of encouragement and pray together. We meet at 5 pm Pacific Time, 6 pm Mountain, 7 pm Central, 8 pm Eastern Time. We keep the meeting short–just a half hour or so. To join us in the Prayer Room, please go to the Living Stream Church of the Brethren website at www.LivingStreamCoB.org. Then simply click on the link to the Living Stream Prayer Room.  (If requested, grant permissions for camera and mic, and choose to connect with computer audio and video to join the Zoom meeting.)

Pacific Northwest District Special Time of Prayer on May 5
Please join the Pacific Northwest District next Thursday, May 5 for a time of prayerfully discerning how best to encourage our congregations and faith communities to reconnect and stay connected in intentional community so we can explore together what God might have in mind for us.
The Envisioning team (Peggy Liley, John Jones, Howard Ullery and Colleen Michael) have scheduled a dedicated time of prayer the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month at 7:00 PM Pacific Time via Zoom. We anticipate this being a time of sharing and prayer concerns for our congregations and thoughtful discernment about the direction our District will be heading specifically in terms of ministry and organization. We anticipate we will meet for about 30 minutes each time.
The Dates for this time of prayer are May 5 and 19. The meeting time is 7:00 pm Pacific; 8:00 pm Mountain; 9:00 pm Central; 10:00 pm Eastern time. The Zoom link for these meetings will be: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/236009838 For those joining the Zoom gatherings by phone call, our Meeting ID will be: 236 009 838
