This month’s theme is on promotion, promotion, promotion!
Our Business Directory goes live soon and I urge you to check out the test version. The directory features an interactive map and links directly through to your webpage. Following on from this is a series of videos featuring local businesses which will be used as a promotion tool for the directory. We are also working on a series of photoshoots, highlighting individual businesses and again heavily promoting the town.
Finally we have the Peterhead app – Dscvr Peterhead. This is actually a cool and easy to use app, aimed at assisting our businesses, services and venues to promote their offers to residents and other businesses, increasing footfall and sales.
I urge you to get involved - we really have a great town and need to keep telling everyone so!

Business Directory
The deadline for checking your business listing in the Business Directory is Thursday 28th April.
The Business Directory is a web based business database located on the Rediscover Peterhead website. Make sure your listed correctly.
dscvr is a “whole of place” digital app, designed to help local businesses, services and venues to promote their offers, and support local residents to safely return to their town centres by providing information on all the activities in their local towns.
By linking residents and businesses, and showcasing each town’s unique offers, dscvr has successfully increased footfall and dwell time in town and city centres across the country.

The dscvr team will be visiting the businesses in Peterhead on the 11th and 12th May to introduce themselves and to gather content for all Peterhead has to offer.

Town centre promo video
Over the past couple of weeks we've had a videographer capturing footage of a number of businesses to create a town centre promotion video, showcasing the independent and diverse array of shops Peterhead has to offer.
The video encourages people to discover places to stay, shop, eat and drink, and relax within Peterhead town centre
The video will also be used to promote the Business Directory and dscvr Peterhead app, where audiences will discover the wider range of business offerings.
We will provide more information as the project progresses.
Photoshoot #BusinessSpotlight
30 businesses in 30 days
We've also commissioned a photographer to capture 30 of our independent town centre businesses, which will feature on social media in a campaign called #BusinessSpotlight, putting 30 businesses in the spotlight over 30 days.
These photos will help to promote Peterhead's wider town centre business offering through linking to the Business Directory and dscvr Peterhead app, where audiences will discover the wider range of business offerings.
If you would like to be featured, but have not been contacted to date please get in touch ASAP and we will try to accommodate you if we have availability on this project.
Rediscover Peterhead ran an 'guess the number of easter eggs' competition during the Easter holidays, with 4 year old Ewan guessing the closest and taking home 179 eggs! Beating his 7 year old brother to the prize. We're hoping he shares a few!
The competition offered some family fun in the town centre throughout the easter holidays. We were pleased to see so many taking part.
