UPCOMING SKILLS TRAINING SESSIONS
Advocacy 101
James Janeiro & Gary Gladstone
April 29, 3:00PM

Shaping policy relies on the ability to help decision makers find their way to understanding and supporting your recommendations. Experienced advocates, who have sat on both sides of the lobbying table, will walk you through the dos and don’ts of persuading policy makers. What tools work best? How do you prepare? What do you need to know before you arrive? What do you do to lock things down after you leave? The session is delivered by James Janeiro, Director of Community Engagement and Policy at Community Living Toronto, and former social policy advisor to the Premier of Ontario and Gary Gladstone, Government Relations lead for Reena, whose campaigning experience covers all levels of government.

Friday, April 29th,  3:00 PM - 4:30 PM, Online

ORGANIZE FOR THE FUTURE

On May 1st, at 12:00 and 2:00 PM, organizations from across Ontario are gathering to remind the province of the pressing need to addresses concerns about decent work, affordable housing, access to services and a just recovery.

Events are happening in Brampton and Downtown Toronto, as well as other cities outside the GTA.

Networks are invited to come together and join the event in groups oriented around their issues, with health care workers, people in education, folks involved in precarious work, etc, gathering ahead of time and joining as a group.

If you’re interested in participating in this event and want to help create a nonprofit sector presence in either Brampton or Toronto, let us know at OFA and we’ll help create a gathering space and promote the event. Just email info@ontarioforall.ca and let us know you’d like to participate, and we’ll connect you to other colleagues excited about working on this event.
