New COVID Relief Program Offers Assistance to
Small Businesses and Nonprofits

Businesses and nonprofits can receive assistance through OKC Rescue Program. The program is designed to aid financial recovery from COVID-19. Qualifying organizations must be located in Oklahoma City, have 100 or fewer full time employees and demonstrate one of these: (1) economic impact of COVID-19 (2) be a minority-owned business or (3) be located within a Qualified Census Tract (low-income neighborhoods).

Three types of services are available: 
1) Technical Assistance - Businesses and nonprofits can receive up to $15,000 for technical services, provided by local experts.

  • Accounting, bookkeeping, and tax preparation
  •  HR and employment best practices
  • Marketing, advertising and website services
  • Business growth, strategy, and planning services
  • Architectural and engineering services

2) Facade and Storefront Improvements - Minority-owned businesses and those located in a Qualified Census Tract can apply for up to $25,000 in reimbursement for exterior improvements.

  • Façade repair, painting or replacement
  • Window replacement
  •  Awnings or window overhangs
  •  Permanent signage (no banners, decals, etc.)

3) Pandemic Mitigation - Minority-owned businesses and those located in a Qualified Census Tract can apply for up to $25,000 in reimbursement for alterations to a physical location related to COVID-19 prevention and mitigation.

  • Ventilation systems
  • Outdoor patio seating
  • Parking lot restriping
  • Partitions
  • Others upon request

The OKC Rescue Program is administered by the Alliance for Economic Development of Oklahoma City and is funded by the City of Oklahoma City’s allocation from the federal American Rescue Plan Act.

Apply To Be a Vendor for The OKC Rescue Program
Become a vendor for the OKC Rescue Program and help support small businesses and nonprofits in OKC. We are searching for technical assistance vendors to help support our technical assistance service for the OKC Rescue Program. This includes accounting, marketing, business planning, IT, HR, and engineering services. All vendors will be paid through the Alliance for Economic Development.

The Alliance has administered several other COVID relief programs for the business and nonprofit community since spring 2020, and we recently completed a survey of organizations that received funding. More than 95% of respondents reported that programs were important in supporting their stability. Funds helped them to maintain jobs and payroll, purchase equipment or technology or complete renovations to adapt their physical space. Some 88% said they still need financial assistance and assistance with marketing, payroll, equipment and operational support.
