You Are Not Alone - YANA

Imago is delighted to be offering the You Are Not Alone (YANA) service, funded through Kent County Council’s Reconnect programme.

The COVID pandemic has turned lives upside down, and children and young adults have been impacted in ways that affect their mental and physical wellbeing. In response, Imago has developed an exciting new project, YANA, running from July to October 2022.

YANA aims to help children and young adults develop resilience and emotional wellbeing. The project uses a preventative approach to raise awareness of mental health, develop understanding of what that looks like for the individual, and explore what they can do themselves and where they can go for further support. The YANA service is for children and young adults who would like to improve their emotional health and wellbeing, and do not meet the threshold for support from CAMHS and NELFT.
YANA offers a mix of online wellbeing and emotional resilience workshops, one-to-one sessions, peer support and information for families.
We know YANA will make a real difference to children and young adults, both now, and for their future.

Expression of Interest for Kent and Medway Integrated Care System Representation Roles for VCSE Sector

Kent and Medway is one of the largest and most complex Integrated Care Systems (ICS), serving a population of nearly two million people. The Integrated Care Board (ICB) is a new organisation with a remit to improve health and care for everyone who lives in the county, addressing inequalities in outcomes, access and patient and carer experiences. Success will also be determined by enhancing productivity and value for money, together with making a vital contribution to the broader social and economic development across the region.

The Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector has always been seen as an essential component of the health and social care environment in Kent and Medway. This has been especially evident during the COVID pandemic, which brought closer working between the VCSE sector, local authorities and NHS bodies to address unprecedented challenges for our communities.

We are looking for individuals to represent the VCSE sector on specific participatory (non voting) roles within three of the ICS Boards and committees. Candidates are likely to be employed by, or trustees of, Kent and Medway - based or focused VCSE organisations, however, PLEASE be aware that on these boards you would be representing the whole VCSE sector in Kent and Medway and not your employing organisation or specific geography or beneficiary group. Applications from candidates who are self-employed, but have the relevant skills, experience, and networks will also be considered. Please note that as these roles are remunerated, applicants will need to also demonstrate that appropriate PAYE, NI and pension contributions will be met by a PAYE-registered organisation.

Read the role descriptions and criteria here.

If you would like to be considered for one or more of these roles, please complete the Expression of Interest form and return to Josephine McCartney via josephine@kentcf.org.uk

Deadline: Monday, 4th July.

Findings and recommendations of the VCSE Steering Group Review

Following the recent review of the VCSE Steering Group for Kent and Medway to identify its priorities, governance and how to engage better with voluntary organisations, we would like to share the findings and the recommendations and inform you of the next steps.

This is an online event and we hope that if you engaged in any of the workshops, one to one interviews or surveys that you will be able to join us to hear the collective views of the sector.

The Gas Safe Charity Online Workshops

The Gas Safe Charity are offering FREE virtual workshops to raise awareness of the risks of carbon monoxide for people who work in the homes of vulnerable people.

This online, hour long workshop is aimed at front line staff and volunteers from social care, NHS, FRS, voluntary and private sectors working in the UK who visit vulnerable people in their homes every day.

The Think CO online workshop will tell you more about the sources, signs and symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning, how to help prevent it and what the implications are to you and your client. In particular, we focus on long term, low level risks which can have serious consequences and help you spot and address the risks. As more vulnerable people are spending time at home, the risks increase.
