Please Bring a Dish

Following the confirmation service, we will have a covered dish luncheon to honor our confirmands and those who are being received. Mark Hocutt will be preparing be preparing the delicious chicken for us. We ask that everyone bring a covered dish or two that will feed your family and a few others.

If your last name begins with the following letter, please bring a:

  • A - H   veggie or salad

  • I - S     starch

  • T - Z   fruit or dessert

You may bring your dish to the kitchen prior to the service. Please remember to bring HOT foods already cooked!  We will keep them warm during the service. Insulated totes work great. Please LABEL your tote with your name and the dish you have brought.

We could use help turning over Walton Hall after the service. We could also use help setting tables and bringing out food to the serving tables. It’s a tremendous blessing if you can sign up in advance so we can give you a specific task. Please contact Libby Puckette if you are able to help. Thank you!

Blessing & Vision

A Mini-Conference with The Rev. Dr. Russ Parker

Saturday & Sunday, May 21-22, 2022

The Rev. Dr. Russ Parker will be leading a mini-conference on Blessing & Vision. Parishioners who were at the last conference with him in 2017 will remember the huge impact that his teaching made on St. John’s Parish Church at that time. We expect a similar encouragement and openness to the Holy Spirit this go around. We will meet from 9 am until 2 pm on Saturday, May 21 in Walton Hall, and he will preach at all three worship services on Sunday, May 22. You will not want to miss this sacred time with the Lord and under Russ Parker’s teaching.  Come with an expectation to be transformed and to see fresh visions for St. John’s Parish Church!

Russ Parker is an Anglican priest and world-renowned healing and reconciliation expert and is the Director of 2Restore, a resource for healing wounded churches, exploring the issues and legacies which prevent them from moving forward and growing in mission. He has authored 16 books and is co-founder of the community of Aidan and Hilda, an ecumenical world-wide fellowship whose members seek to live out Christianity as a complete way of life.  History | Community of Aidan and Hilda – USA
Previously Russ was International Director for Acorn Christian Healing Foundation. He was ordained in 1981 and now resides in Farnham Surrey, UK where he is Associate Minister at. St. James Church Rowledge, Farnham.
