Dear Friends,

COMPLINE AND SATURDAY MORNING PRAYER
After a short Easter break both return this week.  Compline will be led by Rev Rosemary Durward (Zoom details below)  this evening at 9.00 pm.  Morning Prayer takes place in the Church on Saturday at 9.00 am.

THIS SUNDAY AT ST MARTIN'S
Please join us for our Family Service at 10:30 am.  Ali, our Children's and Youth Minister, will be exploring the word 'Love' in many languages (do come prepared to share the word in your native tongue !) and how we are called to show it by our actions.

MARTY'S FRIENDS
Please note that the playgroup is not meeting on Wednesday 4th May as the hall is being used for safeguarding training.

FOODBANK
Please remember that the Foodbank is relying on our generosity to continue providing food to those in our village in need.  The cost of living crisis is impacting local families, and bringing new clients to our distribution centre for our help. Our stocks are starting to run low. The Foodbank is in need of tinned meat, tinned vegetables & potatoes, UHT fruit juice 1L (preferably apple or orange juice), UHT milk 1L (whole and semiskimmed), fruit squash, snacks (savoury & sweet), sponge puddings, tinned spaghetti hoops, nappies size 7 and 8, baby wipes, floor cleaner, men’s razors, hair conditioner, laundry liquids & capsules . Please do not donate out of date items. Thank you for your continued support.

COMMUNITY COFFEE MORNING AT ST MARTIN'S
Starting on May 12th  we will be starting a Community Coffee Morning every Thursday from 10 – 12 pm in St Martin’s Church transept. This is for everyone in the Horsley community, not just church members.
We need your help! Can you volunteer? Do you know someone who can be your ‘coffee buddy’ who can run this event with you?  It will be fun and for a good cause! Each week, we need two people to run this morning. The more volunteers we have, the less you will be on the rota, perhaps only once every three months or even four! We will create a self-running rota and assuming volunteers are happy to share contact details, in the event someone needs to ‘swap’ their scheduled day, this can easily be done. Volunteering for the Community Coffee Morning will not be a major commitment. Full training on how to use the coffee machine will be provided and top tips for making sure the coffee morning runs smoothly! Please contact Margaret Read to sign up   Email gandmread@yahoo.co.uk

ANNUAL PAROCHIAL CHURCH MEETING
The Annual Parochial Church Meeting  (APCM) takes place  Tuesday 17th May at 7.00 pm in the Canterbury Rooms.  The meeting includes the election of Churchwardens and members of the Parochial Church Council.  If you are interested in standing for the PCC please contact Sara Dean the PCC Secretary by clicking HERE.   Whilst there is some business to discuss, this is also an opportunity to hear from the Rector about plans for the future and to celebrate all that has occurred over the past year.  We can do that over a glass of wine!

To download a copy of the Annual Report 2021 please click HERE.

To download a copy of the Draft Annual Accounts for 2021 please click HERE.

In accordance with the Church Representation Rules 2020, we are obliged to make the Electoral Roll (our register of regular worshippers) available for viewing.  It is available for inspection, please contact the Parish Office.

FACULTY APPLICATION
The PCC is making a relatively simple application to replace the radiator covers in the North Transept (1980s formica) with something more in keeping with the improvements made in recent years.  The 31-day notice period for objections begins on Sunday 1st May.  The full application can be seen on the notice board at the church but is equally summarised by the design images that can be seen by clicking HERE.

Every blessing.

THE THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER

Almighty Father,
who in your great mercy gladdened the disciples
with the sight of the risen Lord:
give us such knowledge of his presence with us,
that we may be strengthened and sustained by his risen life
and serve you continually in righteousness and truth;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.
