We held our GBM via zoom. This time we had the awesome Fernando Rosario literally provide us with a great workshop on how to focus your energy and empower us to advance by properly defining out goals. His presentation "Who is your Caddy?" was well received.

Saturday 16, April 2022
EMPOWER High School Conference at SHPE UCSD. SHPE San Diego Professional Chapter supported by finding presenters to volunteer for this great event. We had a great time networking with the UCSD and High School Students.

Friday 29, April 2022
Night with Industry & Networking Took place at Southwestern Community College!! Had the fortune of collaborating with the Math, Science & Engineering Department to make this happen. SWE Southwestern was also instrumental in helping us promote the event inside SWC. Great turnout and fantastic conversations. Thank you Ana Reyes from LPL Financial for sponsoring great food from "Tomatitos"

LeaderSHPE Retreat Region 2 Took place via zoom!! Great event supporting many of our Region 2 members!!! SHPE San Diego Professional Chapter President (Lazaro Herrera) supported as a panelist for this event. Thank you Miguel Angel Guzman for the opportunity.

Hola!!! The month of April 2022 has been extremely busy with activity in our SHPE San Diego chapter!! We have been successful in supporting with volunteers and organizing in person events. To list a few of the events:

Our chapter is strong!!! Much support from the professional community as well as the student chapters is visible!!

As we enter May 2022, I want to wish "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!" to all our members who embrace that title. You deserve the recognition from us for ALL the hard work you do!!! Gracias!!

Once again, I hope you give yourself a chance to really live and believe in the core values of SHPE; FAMILIA, SERVICE, EDUCATION & RESILIENCE!!!

Whatever your opinion is about how things are going we are here to support and be together...because we are stronger if we unite!!

We have NILA 2022 coming up. This will have two parts, one will be virtual and for Presidents you will be going to Orlando if your schedule permits.

NILA 2022 Coming up

The 2022 National Institute for Leadership Advancement (NILA) offers a valuable opportunity for SHPE's volunteer leaders to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to be successful, certified chapter leaders.

The 2022 conference will be held in two parts. If you expect to be a chapter or regional leader for 2022-2023, please plan to attend.

Regional leaders* and chapter presidents are expected to attend both conferences.

Please register ASAP in order to receive the SHPE Chapter Leader Workbook prior to the event!

If you are a recent graduating student with a bachelors, please take your 1 FREE year Professional SHPE membership and join SHPE San Diego Professional.
