2022 Open Water Events Now Open!

 
All our Open Water Events focus on getting out, being active and completing your own personal challenge. Some have a competitive element and prizes, but we welcome those who also want to take it at their own pace.
 
New in 2022, Swim Ireland are launching our SWIM FEST Events, these festival events will showcase all that is great about Open Water Swimming.
First Up is Fingal Swim Fest in North County Dublin on June 12th so get registered now.
 
You can choose wetsuit, or no wetsuit, and for all events you have the option of wearing a tow-float to help you feel that bit more confident.
 
There is something for everyone from short non-competitive participation events to longer competitive swims for those looking for a challenge. The longer events are also suitable for those who at their own pace.

FINGAL SWIM FEST – JUNE 12th
Join us on the Donabate/Portrane peninsula this June for the very first SWIM FEST event. There are Challenge and Competitive events to suit all ages and abilities
RIVER MOY SWIM FEST – JUNE 25th
An iconic swim with a lot of history sees swimmers meander down river out of the Ballina town. River swims are quite unique, and the river Moy swim won’t disappoint. The 2.5km and 600m swims provide an opportunity for all to take part in this great tradition.
THE ENNISCRONE PIER SWIM – 3rd JULY
Enniscrone Pier in County Sligo hosts this long-established swim. Organised with the local community with challenges for all level of swimmer. The swim sees swimmers looping the course with distances from 200m to 3km.
YOUGHAL SWIM FEST – JULY 10th
Following in Ironman’s footsteps, Swim Fest comes to Youghal in East Cork. Swim Fest will host Challenge distances from 200m to 1000m as well as giving swimmers and triathletes alike the chance to take on the Ironman distances (1.9km/3.9km).
LOUGHREA SWIM FEST – AUGUST 6th
Loughrea provides swimmers the chance to swim in fresh lake water. A popular Open Water Swimming spot all year round, it provides the perfect backdrop for Swim Fest. Opportunities for all levels to take part with Challenge events from 200m to 2km and 4km events.
BELMULLET SWIM – AUGUST 13th
Starting from the iconic tidal pool in Belmullet, this unique swim brings swimmers from the open sea up the canal to the slipway in the town. This event is a big part of the open water community in Belmullet with both 1600m and 800m events
INCH MILE SWIM – AUGUST 20th
The Inch Mile is a fantastic swim in the town of Rathmullan,  County Donegal. The mile and 500m Challenges give swimmers the opportunity to experience this unique open water event.
LOUGH KEY SWIM FEST – SEPTEMBER 10th
2022 sees us back at the amazing location of Lough Key Forest Park. The highlight event of last year will see swimmers take to the freshwater lake under the shadow of McDermotts Castle Island. With something for the kids to 1,500 and 3km Challenges there is something for everyone.
