Senior Signing Day - Donations Needed

The Senior will have College Signing Day on May 20. College Counselor, Mr. Rosa, has planned multiple activities during lunch for the students. We will have cookies, DJ and photo backdrop for kids to take selfies.

Any Senior that has declared and evidenced that they received a scholarship award to Mr. Rosa receives a raffle ticket for prizes at the event.  There will be awards for the most scholarships and the largest amount of a singular scholarship in addition to others awards.

We are asking for parent donations for the college experience gift table. Gift cards of any denomination will be great gifts for the upcoming graduates!

Below are some suggested college related items. Items will be sent to the school for collection & display before the event on May 20.

Senior Spirit Week

This week we are honoring seniors with Senior Spirit Week. Seniors have a host of activities they have planned to celebrate their accomplishments. Senior week activities are only for seniors. All other classes should attend school in uniform each day this week.

There are certain parameters we want seniors to keep in mind. Only current DeBakey students are allowed on campus during school hours and afterwards, unless accompanied by a parent/guardian.
  • Animals must remain at home.
  • Items that resemble weapons must remain at home.
  • Practical jokes and pranks are not allowed. Students must consider the safety and well being of all students and property and must not interfere with the academic school day. In short, please make good choices.
  • The clothes you choose must be school appropriate. Make sure your clothing is comfortable enough for you to last the whole school day on Monday. Bring a change of clothes and shoes just in case. Crop-tops and short-shorts must remain at home.
Hopefully, things will go well Monday. If not, Spirit Week will be cancelled for the remainder of the week.

If you are unsure about anything you plan to do, ask Ms. Perry, Ms. Goudeau or Mr. Saldivar.

Japan/Australia Trip

Exciting news! Your student is invited to join us on a once-in-a-lifetime international travel experience with their peers to Japan and Australia in Summer 2023! (Japan 2022 trip is now rescheduled to Summer 2023)

Educational travel exposes students to new people, places, and cultures which in turn expands their knowledge of the world and their knowledge of themselves. That’s why I’m thrilled to bring this opportunity to your family and our community.

This trip will fill up fast, so please join my informational meeting to learn:

  • How this opportunity will benefit your child
  • What we’ll see and do on our trip
  • Everything that’s included in this experience
  • How your child can earn academic credit
  • How we’re keeping this safe and affordable
  • How to enroll on this trip (before it fills up!)

Our meeting will be held on May 25, 2022 at 6 PM - there are limited spots available so don’t miss your opportunity to reserve your seat. One parent must be in attendance.

So that I can alert you of any changes to this meeting, you must register using this link: https://bit.ly/3vP1KlI

Can’t make the meeting but want more information? Register and select “No but send info.”
