ABOUT THIS WEBINAR
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. This month’s learning opportunity focuses on the theme, mental health is public health. Mental health is more than just a disorder, as seen by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on increased stress, anxiety, and depression. Mental health impacts individuals’ physical, mental, and social well-being, making it integral to achieving overall public health goals.
In this webinar, Mental Health America will explore mental health as a public health issue and discuss the relationship between mental health and social determinants of health including food and nutrition security, safe physical activity access, and social connectedness. We will hear from two State Health Departments on how they have approached and integrated mental health into their public health work using a policy, systems, and environmental change lens.
