Happy Friday Night!
I love to feature simple little details in my knitting designs. One of my favorites lately has been diagonal eyelets and so tonight I'm sharing a couple of patterns that feature this design element that are also great for Spring & Summer knitting.

The first pattern is a revamped design that I just published this week! The Snowdrop cowl, originally published as part of my collaboration with Fairmount Fibers/Manos del Uruguay yarns last year, is now also available as an Elizabeth Smith Knits pattern. Let me tell you a bit more about this design!

Snowdrop Cowl

This light & airy little cowl is knit with just 1 skein of fingering or sport-weight yarn (Just like the original, this version is knit in Manos del Uruguay Alegria yarn). And it features those diagonal eyelets I love so much just along one side for a bit of asymmetry.

Another Diagonal Eyelet Pattern Idea...

Love the look of the diagonal eyelets but would rater knit a garment? My Raincheck Vest features a similar asymmetrical diagonal eyelet detail and is a great warm-weather layering piece. I knit this version in Berroco's Remix yarn.
The edges of Raincheck are raw (i.e, there's no trim) which works well for linen/cotton yarns. But if you prefer no curling edges at all (or have a wool blend yarn that will curl a lot with raw edges), then you consider adding some trim. Check out my blog post here which walks you through how to do this. And for all of the pattern details, click the button below (or here to view on Ravelry):
RAINCHECK VEST
New to diagonal eyelet stitches? I had created the video below that walks you through how to do it for my Raincheck vest (but the "yarn-over" and "k2tog" techniques are similar if you are making the Snowdrop cowl too):
We took a sunset walk downtown this week (here in Freeport). It was so nice to see so many blooming flowers, like these pretty tulips.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!
