Meet Our New CEO &
Join Our First "Community Conversations"

Hello Chapter Leaders!

I have really enjoyed getting to know many of you during my first few months as CEO at Together Women Rise. In order to meet even more of our dedicated chapter leaders and members, I am planning a series of “Community Conversations” in June.

These Community Conversations will give me the opportunity to meet you and hear your thoughts and questions about Together Women Rise. I will give a brief presentation about our future plans, but mainly want to open up a conversation with you. The meetings will be held online on various days and times in order to accommodate members' schedules and different time zones. The conversations will be about 30 minutes each.

The dates and times are: I will be holding these Community Conversations on a regular basis going forward.

I hope to see you at one of these meetings, and please encourage your chapter members to attend as well.

As always, thank you for your ongoing support of Together Women Rise, your chapter, and women and girls around the world!

Beverley Francis-Gibson
CEO

New Grantee Speaker List Available

Every quarter, we share a list of grantee representatives who may be available to speak at your chapter meeting. The new grantee speaker list for July and August is available HERE. You can always find the grantee speaker lists on the Chapter Resources page of our website – we have moved it up on the page and highlighted it for easier access. Please give our grantee representatives as much notice as possible, and please consider partnering with other chapters in order to minimize the number of speaker requests that our grantees receive.

June Featured Project:
Leadership Training for Teen Girls in Morocco

DONATE
This month, we are partnering with Project Soar to help vulnerable girls stay in school, avoid child marriage, and gain skills for future employment. Project Soar’s focus on helping marginalized teen girls, some with physical and mental disabilities, to become their own change agents has been highly successful in challenging gender norms, overcoming barriers to higher education, and creating the leaders of tomorrow.

Discussion Questions for Discussion
  1. In addition to the Girl Leaders Clubs, what else about this program makes it sustainable?
  2. As the girls become more confident and self-assured, how does it change others around them, their families, and the broader community?
  3. How might a facilitator become a mentor? How do you think mentorship contributes to systemic change?

Even if you don’t meet in person, a Zoom screen shot can work too!  Please submit your chapter photos by using this form, and you may see yourself in an upcoming issue of The Dish!

2. Home Office Directory – If you have questions or need information about running your chapter, your primary contact is your Mentor or your Regional Leader. (If you do not know your Mentor or Regional Leader, please email info@togetherwomenrise.org.) Another excellent resource is our website. There may be times, however, when you need to reach out to our Home Office staff. To assist you in this, we have prepared a directory of who to contact for specific questions or needs. We will continue to provide all the same learning materials for your chapter meetings; they will be readily accessible to you online via the Together Women Rise website, and our YouTube channel. We have put together some simple instructions to help you make the switch. Click HERE. Our Home Office staff will be available to answer any questions and provide assistance. Please contact Amy Moore (amy@togetherwomenrise.org).

4. Monthly Chapter Reports – Some of you have inquired recently about your monthly chapter reports. We continue to have issues with the software provider that runs and distributes these reports automatically each month. Please know that we are working to identify and correct this issue. and greatly appreciate your patience and understanding. In the meantime, if you need your monthly report, please email donations@togetherwomenrise.org. FYI, if you do not see your monthly chapter report, please check your Spam or Junk folder as it may have ended up there.
