Teen Summer Reading: Read Beyond the Beaten Path
Teen Tween Summer Reading for 6th-12th grades

This summer, log the minutes you read to earn badges and rewards. 5 hours read = a free book. Badges = virtual tickets towards our grand prizes.

Once you log 5 hours of reading, you qualify to pick up a free prize book between July 15-August 31 at either of our libraries.

In addition, each badge you earn after the 5 hours earns a virtual ticket that can be applied towards one of 7 grand prizes.

Apply for the Teen Library Council
Do you want to make an impact on your community and the library? Do you like promoting reading and the library to your friends?  Consider applying for the teen library council.

The teen library council offers teens in grades 6–12 the opportunity to have input in the way the library serves teens. The council meets the second Monday of every month from 5-6:30pm during the school year, alternating between our Cedar Mill and Bethany locations. Meeting attendance and participation in events are mandatory.

What TLC members do:
  • Plan, promote, and help out with teen library programs.
  • Attend monthly TLC meetings.
  • Write OBOB questions for the 6-8 grade division.
  • Recommend books, movies, music & video games to library staff.
  • Recommend teen collections to the public with displays, book reviews, podcasts and social media posts.
  • Promote the library to their peers in person, on social media, with videos and through outreach.
  • Help judge art contests.
Applications are due by June 5, apply now.
