Hi there!
After announcing a US$111 million raise, the co-founder of Xepelin, a Chilean-born startup that offers financial services for SMEs, says that they will focus on Mexico. About being backed by Kaszek, Avenir, and PayPal Ventures, he told Contxto that is a sign of the latent need for this kind of service in the SME ecosystem in Mexico and a vast market opportunity. “It also validates the work that everyone in the company is doing and encourages us to move forward, trusting that we are giving everything to help solve the financial pains of SMEs in the country.”
This week, the big news in LatAm was that Habi achieved unicorn status and became the first Colombian startup after Rappi to do so. Habi is a real-estate startup that emerged in 2019 to digitize buying and selling homes in Colombia, where it was a slow and outdated process. Then they landed in Mexico. Its more than a billion valuation came in a Series C, where it raised US$200 million. Speaking of unicorns, you can check out one of our most popular posts, The Complete List Of Latin American Unicorns, now updated with this new addition.
