UMA WEEKLY UPDATE
May 13, 2022

We decided to have a different kind of fun this year so parents, guardians, students, staff and supporters can get to know each other through this new community building format!  Play yard games in the courtyard, make some art, listen to student musicians, contribute creatively to a mural, watch a magic show and so much more.  Student artists will have their creative work on display and available for purchase.

The event is free and includes cultural foods from local vendors.  Discounted parking for $3 available at the Exchange Street parking ramp.  A perfect way to spend a Friday afternoon and evening!

Anyone interested in supporting the event with a donation can do so here.  See you next Friday!

What's Happening at School

Putting the school's design & engineering power tools to good use, 6th graders were challenged to come up with an idea for extra seating in the school courtyard. Discussion of the pros & cons of the designs ensued and once a minimalist design was chosen students got to work. They cut, drilled and assembled a wooden bench in just one day.  Supervised by 6th grade teacher Bryon Adams, students all contributed to an aspect of the build and were extremely proud of their handiwork.
