Hello <<First Name>>,

Thank you for praying with us over this past month for the healing of my broken collarbone. The healing is going well, and the doctor says I'm free to travel to the US for the summer. I'm doing rehab and still have some limitations and pain, but by and large I'm getting back to normal. In the next few weeks I'll start sharing our church visit plans so you can find a time and place to meet up with us this summer.

I recently learned of various situations and prayer requests from people on our support team. I was reminded that everyone has their own challenges and many people are also suffering or have suffered in the past. It was a privilege to me to be able to pray for these people specifically.

I consume substantial amounts of leadership material throughout my day to day routine. My role as a missionary is multi-faceted, summarily executive and administrative. An Executive Pastor of sorts, if you wanted to use some modern church world parlance. Leading and managing people quickly rise as over-arching themes in my work. (Some people are surprised to learn that missionary work is not all prayer and street evangelism!  If you want to learn about what being a missionary can look like, I'm happy to share with anyone, anywhere!)

Do you have any recommended resources for me? A book, podcast, or blog?  I manage a coffee shop and care for all of the administrative aspects of our growing church.  Maybe you have some nuggets from your years of business and/or church experience to share with me.  I'm all ears!  Shoot me an email back or let's have a video chat or breakfast in Central IL some time soon.

Next month I'm planning to start meeting with a BAM/B4T (Business as Mission / Business for Transformation) coach to help me take our coffee shop to the next level. At our quarterly vision retreat last month we worked out more of the details about what we need in place for our sending church as we look to plant a new church in the next year.

I was recently challenged with the idea that if you have the same plan coming out of covid as you did going in, you probably have the wrong plan.

Do you agree?

Thank you for being a part of what God is doing through us to make disciples of Jesus in Japan.

For the Kingdom,

John, for Silvia and the boys

PS - Let's get together so I can hear about all God is doing in your life. Shoot me an email and we can work out the details.
