OFFSHORE WIND SYMPOSIUM, FRIDAY, MAY 20, 6:00, IRHS
The Fenwick Island Environmental Committee is hosting this event to “Seek a Responsible Solution”. It is expected that opponents of the planned wind power facilities, including the FI Environmental Committee will dominate the presentation, and be a substantial portion of the audience. Wind power and other renewable energy supporters are encouraged to attend to show their support. The doors will open at 5:30 (link). See below for more information.
COUNTY SPRING DINNER SET FOR MAY 28
The County Party Spring Dinner, the main fundraiser for the party is set for the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. It will be at the Georgetown Cheer Center and begin at 5:30. Keynote speaker will be former U.S. Rep. Tony Coelho. More details and ticketing info are available (pdf or docx).

WIND POWER
The RD38 Committee meeting on May 6 included a very informative presentation by Mike Dunmyer of USWind on their offshore wind farm plans, as well as the contracting and regulatory approval processes. RD38 has posted a video of the presentation and the Q&A that followed (link). The presentation lasted about 18 minutes and the Q&A 22. The slides that supported that presentation are also available separately (pdf). Mike Dunmyer has also provided a file of FAQs that answer some question asked at the meeting as well as some others (pdf).
