We have a full farrow to finish operation here at Homegrown Pork And Poultry. This means that your hogs are born on pasture and live every day of their life out digging, grazing and lounging in the breeze as pigs should.
When our pasture goes dormant in the winter, the hogs are supplemented with hay in order for them to receive a fully balanced diet and ensure that top quality flavor.
Did you know about 97% of hogs in the United States are raised in confinement operations where hogs have little to not access to natural light, fresh air?
Along with the general animal welfare standards we try to maintain, pastured pork is known to have higher levels of Omega-3 Fatty Acids ( Read about Omega-3 vs Omega=6 Fatty Acids Here), higher levels of antioxidants such as Vitamen E, Vitamen D and Selenium!
