People, Purpose, Passion: Pathways to Success
Presentations should discuss topics relevant to allied health professional practice, services, policy & planning, workforce, education & research in regional, rural, and remote areas.
Abstracts that describe solutions for common challenges or highlight opportunities for sharing successful strategies and innovations are particularly encouraged.
Scientific Presentation Types:
ORAL PRESENTATIONS:
- 25-minutes in duration, including 5-minutes for question time (Pre-recorded video, followed by live Q&A).
- Maximum 250 words and include an introduction, methods, results / outcomes, discussion / learnings conclusion.
This presentation type is suited to:
- The presentation of a service project or research study
- Presentations of significant impact or importance for rural and remote allied health
- Topics requiring discussion of context prior to delivering the results and summary/conclusion
LIGHTNING PRESENTATIONS
- 5-minute oral presentation, followed by a 15-minute group discussion (Pre-recorded video, followed by live Q&A discussion)
- Maximum THREE (3) PowerPoint slides
- Maximum 250 words and include Methods/activities, descriptions of the change/improvement, new resources or process, and an evaluation/outcome.
This presentation format is suited to:
- Local quality improvements or service innovation activities, pilot projects with results available
- Sharing evaluated resources (Clinical tools, patient resources, service coordination tools)
- Forming collaborations and identifying contacts and colleagues doing similar work
SEMINAR
- 45-Minutes in length, including question time (Live Zoom Sessions)
- Facilitators and three (3) panel members will discuss work on a key topic for rural and remote allied health
- Maximum 250 words and provide an outline of your seminar session, including a brief description of an issue/problem and rationale for presenting it as a priority at the conference.
Presenters should provide a diversity of perspectives and experience on the topic. Seminars on the following topics will be given priority:
- Transformation in rural and remote healthcare
- Building “career enrichment” opportunities to enhance retention in rural and remote health services (education, research, leadership)
- Building successful and sustainable partnerships (integrated care, service/business viability in rural areas)
Seminar presentations are suited to:
- Current and emerging issues and priorities for rural and remote healthcare
- Collaborative discussion focused on opportunities, scaling and spreading local/regional solutions, defining priorities for action and practical strategies that audience members and SARRAH can progress.
E-POSTERS
- Electronic posters (ePosters) will be prepared in PowerPoint (1 slide | 16:9 format), displayed during the conference in the resource gallery and conference website
- e-Poster’s will be accompanied by a 20-minute poster session, where poster authors will be available for discussion via Zoom. These sessions will be split into the conference theme
- Maximum 250 words
ePoster Presentations are suitable for:
- Local projects
- QI Activities
- Small research projects
