Rotorua Lakes Council has now opened consultation on the draft development contributions policy. A development contribution is a charge to developers for the growth of our district that helps to fund the infrastructure required in new urban growth areas and across the existing parts of the district.
The introduction of a development contribution was signaled in the Long-term Plan 2021-2031 and now that a draft policy has been developed, Council wishes to discuss the policy and why it is so important that Rotorua has such a policy.
Consultation will run from 16 May to 16 June 2022.

There will be the opportunity to verbally express your submission at a hearing to the Strategy, Policy and Finance Committee. If you do wish to be a part of the hearing process, please advise us through your feedback.
The alternative way to provide your feedback is either by visiting or calling our customer centre on 0800 020 001. Hard copies of the Statement of Proposal and draft Policy are available in the Customer Centre at the Civic Centre, Haupapa Street and also available at the Rotorua Library – Te Aka Mauri.
