Good luck to everyone taking exams this term!

A levels and GCSEs are taking place as usual this term, after two years of changes caused by the pandemic, and younger children will be taking SATs. It can be hard for parents as well as students not to feel tense at this time, and some young people can become very anxious. Finding a trusted person to talk to, eating healthily, getting enough sleep and excerciing can all have a positive effect. It's important as well to try to keep things in perspective, as there are always options even if one set of exams do not go to plan.

The NHS website has some helpful information for family members:

Support for families arriving from Ukraine

We are aware that a number of Westminster households have offered homes to Ukrainians fleeing the war there. We are coordinating a range of support for new arrivals from Ukraine and their sponsors where it is needed. With our partners, we will be aiming to make contact with and visit all sponsors when we are notified through the Homes for Ukraine scheme that local new arrivals from Ukraine have visas and will be hosted at addresses in the borough.

If you know when the Ukrainian family will be arriving at your home, please let us know by emailing: ukraine@rbkc.gov.uk We will then make contact with you to organise an initial visit to make the necessary checks and explore any problems the Ukrainian family may be experiencing. If you need information in order to help them access services such as education and healthcare, do contact your nearest family hub as staff have a good knowledge of local services.

Mental Health Awareness Week  9 - 15 May

Feeling lonely is something that all of us can experience at any point and it can have a huge impact on our wellbeing. It’s important to remember that these feelings can pass and that there are lots of ways we can help each other too.

Fancy a cuppa? Fancy a walk? Sometimes reaching out to each other with as little as three words can make a big difference.

As part of the Better Health: Every Mind Matters campaign, the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport are encouraging people to ‘Lift Someone Out of Loneliness’ by taking a simple action to help someone who may be feeling lonely. If we do this regularly, we can all help to lift each other up.

We would like to hear what you think of pharmacy services in Westminster to help inform our Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment and help the NHS develop services for the future. The assessment is used by NHS England to make decisions on applications to open new pharmacies or to change their locations within Westminster.

The survey should take no longer than five minutes to complete and the information shared will be treated confidentially:
