Join us tomorrow May 14th, 2022 from 10am-2pm for Skagit Water Weeks' Salmon Day at the Children's Museum, Coho-sted by Skagit Fisheries Enhancement Group and Skagit Conservation District.

  • Salmon and water-related activities for kids of all ages!
  • Meet the coho salmon in the Museum and join in a release at Hansen Creek after the event.
  • Get hands-on with the EnviroScape® model at the Skagit Conservation District activity table.
  • Meet mascot Sammy Salmon AND Captain Johann Steinke!

Skagit Kids Read Week (May 15-21st) is an annual celebration of literature marked by a formal proclamation from Skagit County Commissioners, community readings, events and activities. 2022's featured authors are Ciara and Russell Wilson who wrote "Why Not You?", a picture book that inspires young readers to see the value in themselves, be brave and go after their biggest dreams!

The week's activities include:

  • Community readings at local schools and libraries (check list on SKRW web page or the FB event)
  • Get Caught Reading - snap a pic of your friends or family caught in the act of reading!
  • The main event will be held in the parking lot of the Children's Museum of Skagit County on Saturday, May 21st for these fun & exciting activities:
    • Bilingual Book Readings
    • Central Skagit Library Bookmobile
    • Paper Clip Bookmarks
    • Art with Katie Walton
    • Globe Game
    • Multicultural Art Activities
    • Explore Future Careers
    • Frankie the Fire Engine

    • Hula Hoops
    • Scavenger Hunt sponsored by the United Way of Skagit County

Admission to the Children's Museum will be FREE from 1pm-3pm on May 21st! Follow the Facebook event for updates and details or visit the SKRW web page!

Masked Up Monday Mornings is a weekly session that runs from 10am-12pm. Everyone in the museum will be required to wear a mask, to ensure the safety of visitors, and those who are medically fragile. Children under three, who are not able to mask, will not be able to attend this session. These sessions are made possible by generous support from the Nysether Family Foundation and the Skagit Community Foundation.

Berry Dairy Days 2022 is coming back June 17th-19th! Their annual coloring contest is live NOW! Find coloring sheets at CMSC or download one from the Berry Dairy Days website.

The center is located at Old Sedro-Woolley Library, 802 Ball Street, Sedro-Woolley, WA. Open Monday to Saturday 9am-8pm, Sunday noon-6pm. Click here for details.
Burlington Healthy Communities Coalition has been bringing together youth and adults for over 30 years to support and promote healthy environments and opportunities for all youth to gain skills and receive positive recognition in order to prevent and reduce youth substance use.
