Library director Lillie Huckaby presents a letter to library patrons.

Dear Patrons,

Virtual Library Users,
I would like to remind you that material requests for the virtual library can be made directly to me via email or by calling the library. I would especially like to know if you are on a long waiting list. Let me know the title, author, and format you prefer. I will try to add copies and that should reduce your wait time. Also, if a title you want has expired let me know. Another thought is, are the books your kids want to read on the virtual library? Summer’s coming, I want you to have the titles you want for a wonderful summer reading experience.

The ARPA grant that we received is very nearly complete. We now have a picnic table in the front of the library to provide more seating, especially for Wi-fi users even when the library is closed. Many people are enjoying the water fountain/bottle fill station, the hotspots, and two new databases all provided with this grant.

I would also like to say a great big THANK YOU to our wonderful volunteers.

Have a wonderful and safe summer,

Lillie Huckaby
Director

Library Programs and Services for Young Children

The Chickasha Public Library now offers various early literacy services for children and their caregivers. In addition, we have Storytime Kits available for checkout and grab-and-go craft bags available for those that visit the library.

The library meeting room is transformed into a pop-up come-and-go early literacy, and sensory exploration space on Tuesdays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Multiple stations will be set up for children and caregivers to explore, play, and learn together.

Storytime at the Park will start back up on May 25 at 10 am at Centennial Park 801-899 7th St, Chickasha, OK 73018. Youth Service Librarian Courtney Mayall will present a program full of songs, stories, and activities for children five and younger and their caregivers.
