Fashion and Communication students from Columbia College Chicago pitch a product to empower inclusive beauty at L’Oréal Brandstorm 2022 and are recognized for their stellar work. Public voting between now and May 15 will help determine the winners of the semifinals.

Lecture in Photography: Drew Sawyer



Drew Sawyer is the Phillip Leonian and Edith Rosenbaum Leonian Curator at the Brooklyn Museum, where he has organized numerous shows, including John Edmonds: A Sidelong Glance (2020); Liz Johnson Artur: Dusha (2019); Garry Winogrand: Color (2019). He is currently working on the first survey on the work of Jimmy DeSana as well as an exhibition on the history of zines by artists. He was previously a curator at the Columbus Museum of Art, where he co-curated the award-winning historical survey, Art after Stonewall, 1969-1989 (2019). Other exhibitions include, I Too Sing America: The Harlem Renaissance at 100 (2018); Isaac Julien: Looking for Langston (2018); Family Pictures (2018); Allan Sekula: Aerospace Folktales and Other Stories (2017); and Lucy Raven: Low Relief (2016). Sawyer holds a Ph.D. in Art History and Archaeology from Columbia University.

2022 Art and Art History MFA Thesis Exhibition opening reception



The 2022 Art and Art History MFA Thesis Exhibition features the thesis works of the MFA candidates in Columbia College Chicago’s Art and Art History Department. The exhibition, which includes artists’ books, prints, drawings, sculptures, photography, sound, projections, and installation works, represents the culmination of two years of development on a cohesive body of work for each artist. The reception will feature performances by Samantha Trace Foster, Anna Lipscomb, and Alexander Jose Luis Ramirez.

2022 MFA Photography Thesis Exhibition opening reception

The 2022 MFA Photography Thesis Exhibition features the thesis works of the MFA candidates in Columbia College Chicago’s Photography Department. This exhibition presents photographs, installation, and video works that are representative of the culmination of research and practice these emerging artists have maintained throughout their time in the program. 

Participating Artists: Jes Farnum, Sylvie Harris, Katharine Norton, Emilie Plunkett, Ziru Tang, Fengzhao Xu, and Senjie Zhu.
