Northeast Texas Landowner Workshop

On Saturday, June 4, join us for a day in Mount Vernon. It begins with a tour of Daphne Prairie, one of the loveliest prairies in Northeast Texas.  The tour will be followed by lunch and a landowner workshop. Workshop topics include prairie conservation, wildlife management plans and the tax valuation, conservation easements, solar development and and regenerative grazing. Registration is $25. Prairie Seekers Toolbox

Join us Saturday, May 14! This workshop will help build your plant identification skills and prairie ecology knowledge. Held at the Dixon Water Foundation's Leo Ranch. Prairie Seekers is a citizen science program that trains volunteers to assess prairies and help NPAT identify conservation priorities. Read more…

Monarch Conservation

The Fayette Prairie Chapter is hosting a Zoom presentation at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 12. Dr. Ray Moranz of the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation will discuss “Advanced Monarch Biology and Conservation, with an Emphasis on Grassland Management.” Learn more…

BIO-BLITZ at Decker Tallgrass Prairie Preserve in Austin
Saturday May 21 (rain or shine) from 9 a.m. to noon

Join biologists with Austin Parks and Recreation Department, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and local experts as part of a team of citizen scientists conducting a bio-blitz on a preserve that is not normally open to the public. The team will document all species found. No biological expertise is needed as all participants will use the iNaturalist app to simply record observations. (inaturalist.orgObservations will be reviewed and curated by experts to identify species.
