May Prayer Guide

“But the best reason to pray is that God is really there. In praying, our unbelief gradually starts to melt. God moves smack into the middle of even an ordinary day. He is no longer someone we theorize about. He is someone we want to be near.”  ― Emilie Griffin, Clinging: The Experience Of Prayer

May 2022 Prayer Guide

Serving Women and Children in Need

Each year, CPC joins several other churches in Seminole County to support the Pregnancy Centers in their baby bottle fundraising campaign. By filling the baby bottles found at the back of the worship building, you can help the Pregnancy Centers in their endeavor to model the love of Jesus by offering compassionate lay counseling and tangible pregnancy resources and education—all at no cost—to women facing an unplanned pregnancy. The Sanford, Winter Park, and Mobile Pregnancy Centers serve more than 250 people each month and they rely solely on the provision of churches and individuals to serve the women in our community. Please return your filled baby bottles to the same spot by Sunday, June 19— Father's Day.

Reformed Theological Seminary Graduation

Reformed Theological Seminary in Oviedo will be holding its graduation ceremony on Friday, May 20 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew's Chapel in Sanford. Among the graduates will be our own Eunike Indrawan and David M. All are welcomed to attend. If you cannot attend in person, please feel free to watch the livestream.

Save the Date: Vacation Bible School

Mark your calendars for Vacation Bible School June 6-10. This year, we will be partnering with Reformation Orthodox Presbyterian Church each evening that week to teach the children of our community about Jesus through storytelling, activities, music, art, and play. More information is coming soon, but in the meantime, start inviting your friends and neighbors--and be sure to grab up any pirate-themed decorations you see when out thrifting. For more information, reach out to Elizabeth McAdams.

Caring for the Frames

Mary Frame has now begun chemotherapy to treat the cancer in her brain. During this time please consider volunteering to take food to the Frames on dates where meals are still needed.

Want to help, but can't take food?
  • Consider partnering with a friend to split the cost of food and labor.
  • Mary loves cards and notes of encouragement. Drop a word of love in the mail to her.
  • Mary can tolerate very short visits for prayer and encouragement. Reach out to Dr. Frame (email or call 407-977-4489) to coordinate a time that works for them. Please be patient as reply times may not be very fast due to their busy healthcare schedules.
Thank you for your care and ministry to Mary and to John. Questions? Reach out to Stephanie Ilderton.
