Joni Olsen is of Coast Salish and European descent and is a 4th generation Coast Salish knitter. Joni will share her story and introduce us to Salish Fusion Woolworks, her new family business in W̱SÁNEĆ territory in Brentwood Bay, BC.  Salish Fusion honours the historical and unique original Coast Salish designs while innovating a new aesthetic. Salish Fusion will also provide a platform for other Coast Salish artists who will be highly valued, fairly paid and who will profit from their work. Joining Joni will be Sylvia Olsen, author, designer, knitter and expert on the world-famous Cowichan sweaters, and Joni’s mother.
