Mindeleff Cavates, all 89 of them, are believed to have been hand-dug by the ancestral people of Arizona's Verde Valley around 700 A.D.
Although most artifacts were removed long ago, numerous pottery shards remain. So does the spirit of community and ingenuity of the people that called this place home.
