Update 2 for Get Off My Lawn!

Thank you for subscribing for updates for A Whim Away's upcoming new book, Get Off My Lawn! In these newsletters, I hope to give you an insight on the production process, taking you through the steps from a completed manuscript to a published book.

For the past two weeks, I had a couple of meetings with Adam (my writing mentor) to discuss the developmental edits. First, I took the editorial letter from Katie (bluejayes.com), along with my and Adam's comments, and grouped together the related ones. Then, I looked through the manuscript in Scrivener and decided what the changes were going to be for each general comment.

By the way, Scrivener is an awesome tool! Not only is it a word processor, it also compiles to various formats, making my job a lot easier going from manuscript to editing to publication. You can find Scrivener at literatureandlatte.com.

I've also been working on a tool called Canva, to mock-up my cover (see image below). Canva is a cloud-based software that allows you to design visuals. It's a great way to play around with ideas of what things I want on my cover, before communicating with a cover designer. I will be engaging one over the next few weeks, to get a professional-looking cover. I wonder what the final cover for Get Off My Lawn! will look like??
