thirds.
With the weather not looking promising it was important to try get off to a good start and get the game going our way. That didn’t really pan out and it really set the standard for the whole match, with both teams really slugging it out and having moments with the game under their control.
The scores were close all day and really required which ever team had the momentum at the time to take their opportunities.
It was in the 3rd quarter when we were able to get a little break on Nar Nar Goon and went in to ¾ time with our noses just a little in front.
Working into the wind in the last quarter, it required the boys to play really smart and use the footy constructively to get territory and try take the game away from them.
We got ourselves about 20 points clear with not long left on the clock, after a nice goal from Max McDermott which put the game safely in our grasp. To Nar Nar Goons credit they continued to work hard and were able to get a late goal after a loss of concentration & skill error, however we were able to get the win.
It was important for us to get back on the winners list after 2 straight losses and was a great effort from the boys considering we had 3 strong players missing due to senior selection and injury.
Strong players on the day were Flynn Aballah out on his wing, Ryder Milne, Owen Hartley & Piper Pichatree were all strong again down back, as was Logan Fox who played many different roles over the course of the match.
