Dear Valencia Families,

Just a few important dates and announcements for you:

  • BIG thanks to Home and School Club and Mrs. Lane for developing a list of fun ideas to show teacher appreciation for each day of the Teacher Appreciation Week. We hope you had fun participating!

  • If you have a current Kindergartner to 5th grader, and they will NOT BE RETURNING to Valencia next year, please call our school office at 728-7836 and let Amie or Marilyn know. Thank you.

  • We still have tomato plants left for sale at the office! They will be available for purchase for as long as they are available! Half of all money will go back to our current 4th grade class! Each plant is $6. Stop by and pick up some organic tomato starters for your garden!

The Valencia Home and School Club is looking for parents to join the Board of Directors for 2022-2023. You can join by attending our last Home and School Club meeting of the year on May 17th at 5:30PM and  volunteer for one of the open positions on the board: President, Secretary, Treasurer, V.P. of Communications, V.P. of Fundraising and more. We support Valencia by volunteering our time to organize fundraisers and other events. The support we provide the school won't continue without new volunteers, so consider joining our group. Contact Angela Mendenhall with questions at jared.angela.m@gmail.com or attend our meeting on May 17th at 5:30PM in the school Library.

Our Annual HSC Budget Meeting is also on Tuesday, May 17th @ 5:30PM, Library, and you are all invited. We would love for you to join us to hear about what we want to continue funding and what we want to add, if possible. This budget represents all the money our Valencia community has raised this year and how we propose spending it next year. We base these decisions on input from our principal, teachers, and those of you who have been volunteering to make our school the amazing place that it is. We also base it on what has been working or not working this year and years past.

Ms. Richmond, Kindergarten teacher, is RETIRING this year and we are REALLY going to miss her!

For many many years she has always been the main person to maintain the garden and garden pets. All the grades, except for TK and Kinder, has had the opportunity to visit the garden and help Ms. Richmond with projects and learn a thing or two about how to garden. The best part, of course, was to visit the animals and hold them.

But the time has come to find loving forever homes for our pets including the turtles in Ms. Richmond's classroom, which comes with their enclosure/tank. They all will be available after June 3rd.

Interested? Please feel free to contact Ms. Richmond with any questions or other details at
karen_richmond@pvusd.net
