Job: Volunteer Accountant – International Society for Mannosidosis and Related Diseases
Job overview:
This Accountant position will be responsible for various accounting functions related to transaction processing verification and for both received funds and outgoing payments. Supports the Board Treasurer with general accounting administration.
Expected volunteer hours: 5-10 hours per month
Job responsibilities:
Prepares, enters, and maintains journal entries for all accounting transactions of the organization in the organization’s accounting system.
Prepares required documents and files for state and federal tax returns.
Ensures transactions are correctly recorded and classified to present the financial condition of the organization accurately.
Qualifications:
Working experience with accounts payable and receivable required.
The Accountant must possess the ability to work with little or no supervision.
Can learn new software programs if necessary.
Must be self-motivated.
Experience with non-profits preferred.
