Hello Pemetic Families,

We have made it through another week! Masks are on for now and no one is excited about this, but we do what we have to do to remain in school and keep each other safe. Mr. Z will keep us up to date on the Maine DOE guidelines.

The State has stopped pool testing but has provided  6 free COVID test kits for each child and staff. Nurse Brittany will be working with the students to get theirs to take home on Monday. If you don’t want them please let Nurse Brittany know and we will just add them to our supply here at school.

We had several exciting things happen in school this week: Chewonki was here educating the children about a variety of animals (thanks to Kim S for setting this up), the 6 chickens in Kim’s classroom are growing quicker than I thought possible and we had a couple of visiting authors set up by Carol N. that were enjoyed as well. There are many trips happening during the reminder of the year and fun things happening. I’ll keep you informed

Don’t forget to sign your child up for summer school if you are interested. It will run from 1-4 weeks and is a full day. It will be island wide and held at Trenton Elementary School. Students will be transported to and from Pemetic and it is for students going into 1st through 6th grade.

Here is the link for the AOS 91 Summer School registration form. Embedded in the form you will see the parent letter that outlines the programming for students entering 1st-6th grade in the fall. It also provides information for students who participate in ESY (extended school year) through special education. Information for grade 5-8 students is shared in this form, but students won't register for these opportunities until May.

Stay tuned for information on the Scholastic book fair! It will be held in the library this year and as soon as we have information, I’ll let you know.

The Learning Lab is up and running! Monday-Friday from 7:30-8:00 am in Kim Schroeder’s room. Any students grades 4-8 needing extra help are welcome to attend. They just need to come in the front door and sign in.

My door is always open to parents, staff and students for whatever they may need. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Have a great week,

Michele Gurtler

Yearbooks have been ordered! They should be here at the end of May and are packed so tightly with photos and video links that if I added one single more, it would burst. If you still would like to order one, you can order online HERE, or fill our a paper form HERE and send it to school with your payment attached. Yearbooks are now $16.

Thank you to everyone who has already purchased! This has been an awesome year, and I'm excited to relive it through this years' yearbook.

Sincerely,
Michael Newman
Hi all,

Just a reminder that we have a week and 1 day left until the music booster summer scholarships close. These are for incoming freshmen through next year's seniors. I would love to see loads of folks take advantage of this opportunity. Money can go to private lessons, music camp, or other music related activities per board approval.
