    • Swinton estate - Cricket Festival

      • Swinton Estate hosts a Cricket Festival on the cricket pitch in front of the wonderful Swinton Park. Six teams, made up of local Masham companies, will play 6-a-side throughout the day. Refreshments will be available on the side-lines with woodfired pizzas and burgers from the Estate chefs to keep you replenished. A British day out is never complete without an ice cream, complimentary from us to you.


        • Bring a chair and picnic blanket to enjoy a day of friendly British competition. 

        • Entry is free, just turn up! Sunday 5th June, 10.30am until 5.00pm.

      • Masham Cricket Club are now seeking some much needed funding to update the cricket equipment and community facilities.

      • Success! The swifts in St Mary's Church Masham can now be viewed on a monitor at the back of the church. All 4 boxes were occupied overnight, during the day they are coming and going depending on the weather and insect population.

  • Masham Parish Council (MPC) - Notices of Meetings

    • MPC announce the Annual Meetings of the Parish and the Council will be held sequentially on Monday 16th May. They will start at 6:15 pm with an Ordinary Meeting of the Parish Council (Co-option of Councillors) and then the Annual Parish Meeting at 7:00 pm. The Annual Meeting of the Parish Council will then take place.

    • The normal monthly meeting of the Council will follow.

MASHAMSHIRE COMMUNITY OFFICE SERVICES

Mashamshire Community Office is open to the public and operating in a “Covid-Secure” way. 

We are open from 10am to 3pm Monday to Saturday for:

  • Tourist Information –info, advice & guidance for visitors
  • Travel & transport information
  • Printing, photocopying, laminating services
  • Public access to a PC & Internet
  • Advice on Harrogate & NYCC Services
  • Jigsaw library and second-hand book service
  • If self-isolating, we can still help with shopping, collecting prescriptions or just someone to talk to
  • Masham Community Library –  Open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday, 10am-3pm, 4pm on a Thursday and Saturday 10am-12.30pm. Every Wednesday (term time only) Masham Primary School and Acorns Pre School visit the library for Storytime so visitors may prefer to avoid visiting the library between 12.30pm and 1.30pm

Mashamshire Community Office works hard to keep you up to date with the latest information and items of interest.  We keep you connected in the following ways:

  • This newsletter for Locals, which is produced weekly - Usually on a Wednesday or Thursday - we would send a short "e" bulletin if there should be anything urgent.  Contact us if you have feedback or would like to contribute info.  Print and pass on to anyone without email.
  • The Mashamshire Community Facebook Page dedicated to sharing community news.
  • The Visit Masham Facebook Page which, though aimed at visitors, is a useful source of info about great things to do locally.
  • The VisitMasham.com which contains loads of information for both locals and visitors including a Directory of businesses and local groups, Events and community news. 
All of these are only possible with the help of our wonderful volunteers.
 

CAN YOU HELP?

Our paid staff only amount to just over two FTE posts, we couldn't do without help from volunteers.  Our statutory funding covers a fraction of our staff hours.  This leaves the remaining hours plus ALL our overheads, most of which we cover by generating additional funds ourselves from things like ticket sales, advertising, the Flock Gallery and Town Hall bookings etc. We certainly couldn't do this without our volunteers. If you have time to spare and would like to support us, please do get in touch here.
