Charlie Holt’s work has its roots in Pop Art, Surrealism and Dada

… in particular the surrealist game “the exquisite corpse”
… chance, is central to the production and creation of the work
… the juxtaposition of words and images collectively assembled
… telling new stories which are almost exclusively collage, culled from posters in the streets, magazines and newspapers

… the camera is in constant use.
The exhibition is open every day of the week and everything is for sale!

Creative West End Spring Market - Sunday 29th May
There will be a great selection of traders including arts and crafts, food and local artisan goods. As well as the stalls, there’ll be a fantastic line up of ‘wellbeing’ and creative events and activities for all the family, as well as information and exhibitors from a range of alternative wellbeing practitioners and community artists.
If you’re a local performer, there will be  a busking area for artists to book a slot. You may wish to sing, play an instrument, read poetry, paint a picture or entertain us in your own unique way!
More Music will be holding their annual ‘That Spring Thing’ event, that will run at the same time as the market on Devonshire Road, so lots of great activities for the whole family!

3rd - 12th June

Morecambe Bay Arndale
Where will we be five years from now? Local students make art to explore some of the challenges we're all facing.
Groups of young people from schools and community groups have been participating in Future5, a creative multimedia project. Participants have been creating work that explores their hopes for the future - and what they think we can all do to make a difference. They have been working with sound artists, spoken word artists, and filmmakers to produce imaginative and short videos. The films are abstract explorations of what the young people think our biggest challenges will be over the next five years. Their work will be displayed in the Arndale Centre from 3rd - 12th June, before being locked in a digital time capsule for the next five years.
Future5 is part of the ‘Our Place in the World’ programme. The programme is managed by the Culture Co-op, and Future5 has been made possible thanks to Venus & Cupid Arts Trust, Lancashire Youth Challenge, Lancaster University, and Curious Minds.
