MAKING SENSE OF COLLEGE RANKINGS
For many students and parents, one of their many early college research options is to go directly to those famous lists of college rankings. The assumption is that if a college is ‘ranked’ highly by this or that publication, it must therefore be a ‘good’ or even ‘great’ college.
Congratulations to Maggie for committing to the university dedicated to the search for truth at Providence College! We wish Maggie the best of luck becoming part of the FriarFamily.
DO COLLEGE RECOMMENDATION LETTERS HAVE TO BE FROM TEACHERS?
We suggest that your first two college recommendation letters come from teachers who taught your core classes during Sophomore and Junior year. The third letter could be from someone other than a teacher, such as an athletic coach, a music or dance instructor, or a scout leader.
